New "Apple" speakers

At the moment there are a lot of different speakers that have original design. Moreover, due to the fact that many designers and producers have a great deal of new ideas the variety of these devices will go on increasing. So taking into consideration impressive supply of speakers it should be mentioned that a device has to possess at least one distinctive feature in order to be sold.

Thus, Chinese designers have recently invented new speakers in the form of an apple. It's quite possible that they wanted to make consumers think that their newly-made device is an Apple product. But in fact it doesn't really matter because given gadget is very stylish and original as it is. Besides that the price of this concept will probably be moderate enough, so the majority of customers will be able to afford it. As regards available colors there is possibility to choose between green and red.

Of course, new Chinese "Apple" USB speakers won't ever replace iPod Hi-Fi, but they could possibly be useful as a travel accessory for that ultra-modern laptop of yours. In addition, the compact size of the given gadget can be considered as a significant advantage, because it's very easy to find a place in your baggage or back pack for a usual "apple".

Hide a movie in your pocket with Aiptek gadget

Have you ever missed your TV while going to a distant place with not many up-to-date electronics around? Or have you missed a home theater if you have one of course? Probably yes, and if so, you should know that now there is a new cool gadget that can help you. It is Aiptek Pocket Cinema that can bring a pleasant cinema atmosphere anywhere. However that may be, Pocket Cinema gadget is not a naturally born tourist - it is a delicate device. Delicate and small enough to fit in your pocket just like an average mobile phone. In spite of its small dimensions, it allows to display images or movies on a wall or screen or any other clear surface in fact. In work Aiptek Pocket Cinema is specified to show a 50 inch picture with not even slight distortion or bloom effect.

Aiptek Pocket Cinema can be a really good entertaining gadgets if you follow the entire manual guide notifications. Thing is that Aiptek has designed a very interesting, useful and stylish device, but unfortunately it is user unfriendly in a range of aspects. Let's start with the image quality. It is an Aiptek Pocket Cinema's weak spot. It will make a nice clear and bright image on a prepared surface. 50 inches (approximately 120 centimeters) in diagonal are not bad, and the VGA resolution is suitable enough – 640 x 480 pixels. This is a maximum size for 6 feet (180 centimeters) distance between the projector and the image. The minimum size is 6 inches (15 centimeters) in only 8 inches (20 centimeters) of distance. A proper adjustment is done easily with the help of a tripod in the kit.

The list of formats that Aiptek Pocket Cinema is able to playback wouldn't allow a good half of buyers to use it as freely as a PC. It reads MPEG4, ASF or AVI audio / video formats and only JPEG for images. Me myself, I think it should read FLAC or APE also.

In order to synchronize Pocket Cinema with computer you need: Windows Vista / XP / 2000 operating system and to have at least 800 Hz processor , 256 Mb RAM. Once you have loaded its 1 GB internal memory (pretty poor rate, but the problem can be solved with an SD or flash drive), operate it with a remote control . You can also plug Aiptek into a DVD player for a movie that is bigger than 1 GB, but iPod or iPhone synchronization is not available.

For a small portable gadget as the Aiptek Pocket Cinema is, the battery life is very important. Small dimensions didn't allow designers to build in an appropriate memory card, and the battery seems to be tiny to. It can only last 1 hour on the full charge which is a bigger half of an average movie, but not the whole one! Make sure you can charge the portable projector with a USB hub or an AC adapter if you are not going to watch cartoons before bedtime.

Well, even though Aiptek Pocket Cinema doesn’t seem to be a bestseller with a 520 USD sticker, but it can still be a helper in the office routine or at home. One of the best things I liked about it is not portability or something like that, but an instant romantic atmosphere. Think about it if you want to make a good impression on someone.

New Nokia concept phone

Looking at the functionality of the modern cell phones , it seems that something really innovative can hardly be designed. However some designers just go to show that their creativity knows no bounds. Kimberly Hu who created Nokia Scentsory concept phone can be reckoned among such designers as well.

The concept of Nokia Scentsory can be considered as an overwhelmingly innovative one. It represents a mobile communication device that works with the senses of smell , sight, hearing and touch. So, besides basic audiovisual features, Scentsory is able to detect, transmit and emit smells as well. In addition to this it can also radiate colours, lighting, and temperature from the caller's environment. The dual-screen mobile has a LED touchpad, speakers, hidden camera and temperature sensors. Nanotechnology has played an important role in the development of this original device. Using highly sophisticated sensors, the electronic 'nose' samples the odour of the caller's environment and transmits it to the recipient electronically.

Given gadget has three different working modes that distinguish from each other according to the available functions. When the phone is in 'flat mode', the LED touchpad, two screens and stereo speakers for audiovisual calls are accessible. In 'open mode', two screens with a hidden camera and stereo speakers, interior scent detectors, emitter and exterior temperature sensors are exposed. In 'closed mode', the phone's slim profile suits traditional voice calls. The LED screen on the lower folding surface alerts the user to incoming calls.

Thus, at present the creation of such a device seems to be unreal. Yet if this phone appears in the near future, it will be very popular for sure.

Two-part cell phone is real - change device's form factor on the fly!

There were many interesting mobile phone concepts, and their numbers increase every year. However, they share one big problem - close to zero possibility for them to be released in mass production. Unfortunately, they are too futuristic or expensive to manufacture, so many good ideas are buried until right time comes. It is amazing to see a curious concept being made as a real prototype - at the CEATEC exhibition Fujitsu and DoCoMo presented a real working prototype of conceptual cellphone, which is made of two absolutely independent parts, and can be shaped in whatever form factor you want, from slider to rotator!!

The whole idea about this cell phone is that you are free to use it whatever way you want- both parts of it are equipped with sensor display, magnets and bluetooth connection., so they are working in pair even while not connected to each other. This makes this phone truly universal: you can make it a slider, with a full QWERTY keyboard under screen, you can place the screen vertically and use the horizontal part as a joystick in games, you can even use second part as a Bluetooth remote while watching movie on the first! You are limited with only your imagination. Not sure, will it have the second Bluetooth module to be able to connect with other devices, but it seems that it will have the most modern hardware including wireless and connectivity abilities.

This phone is a revolutionary idea that went a long road from concept into a working prototype. Great example of how good ideas should be handled. However, there will be a long road to mass production ahead, because now exists one unit only and Fujitsu have no plans to release it in near future. This was only a demonstration of abilities and possibilities,"Proof of Concepts"in some sort. Nevertheless, it demonstrates possibilities of a true phone of the future - great flexibility of usage and outstanding customization options.

Baseball cap that is as useful at night as in the day

"We are burnin' daylight" we got used to say as a proverb when we want to speed up someone and not lose time any more. A very high appreciation of the sunlight our ancestors put in this simple sentence sounds today in a totally new way. We should not only use sunny hours wisely, but to store energy from the sun when possible.Solar Cells are now installed in many devices, buildings and gadgets to save energy. Even your had can become a part of it. This cap is also equipped with a solar panel. It is right on its peak. You will never feel it while walking in your baseball cap or draw any public attention (which you may find either good or bad) before you turn it on after sunset. Then you will get two LED Light rays right in front of you.

This gadget is very simple.Solar Cells are installed in its brim and charge a battery when the sun shines on the cap. It takes four hours to charge it from to zero to full. On the full charge cap can last shining in the brightest mode up to same time it was charging, which is four hours at its best. Power of light is regulated with a help of a button. In the most economic mode it will shine up to 36 hours. Sun has yet never been gone for so long. Two LED limelights under cap's peak are maybe not powerful enough to illuminate several meters of your way but you will surely see what is there on the ground in the dark and you will be visible if you appear to walk along a road.

Best Powered USB Hub

This is the most stylish and best powered USB hub we've ever seen. The Medusa Hub supports four USB 2.0 ports up to 480Mbps, two Firewire 400 ports up to 400 Mbps and comes with a USB fan and USB light attached. Works in most Windows, Mac, and Linux OS and available now from ThinkGeek.

Medusa was a mythical creature, a Gorgon woman with snakes for hair that was so ugly she's turn anyone who looked at her into stone. While we don't think anyone will turn to stone gazing upon this stylish and functional USB gadget, we do think it would look awesome if each tentacle had a Master Chief USB Drive plugged in, dangling in mid-air with their little USB heads missing.

Strangest iPod accessories.

Apple iPod is, without exaggeration, the most popular portable audio player in the world.Clever marketing strategies of Apple made a symbol out of iPod, for many people, word "iPod" became a common one. As a reflection of its popularity, a strong and wide selection of various iPod accessories appeared, making this stylish Apple masterpiece even better. However, some of these accessories are a bit funny, if not strange at all.

1. Tunebuckle
If you don't know how to carry your iPod Nano around, the Tunebuckle has an answer for you - your belt! However, it is not a clip-on case, as you may think. Imagine that the audio player is hidden inside your belt buckle! Taking advantage of Nano's very small size, it can be hidden inside the buckle, which has an opening for headphone jack and for control buttons too. The iPod will surely be safe from scratches inside this full metal jacket, and you will look very original storing your music inside your belt. However, its main disadvantage is that it is made only for iPod Nano. No other iPod can be placed there because of its hard metal casing, so no play for all iPod Video, Classic, Shuffle or Touch users.

2.iPod "ChairMan" Speakers
Japanese iPod accessory makers once in a while amaze us with fun and original things that make all of us smile. This time it is the Chair Man iPod stand, which tells us that even iPods need to have some rest. The hands and feet look a lot like from Walt Disney's Mickey Mouse, which makes this accessory even funnier. The speakers are hidden inside its feet, you must connect them to the upper earphone jack on the player. Unfortunately, this stand cannot charge the player, so be careful - while resting on this chair and playing music, your player can fall asleep when the battery runs out.

3.iPod DJ Docking Station

This iPod dock will definitely be the star of your party. It is no wonder, because your iPod will became a DJ with it! It will even scratch the turntable in the rhythm of your tunes. Just plug your iPod Video in it (no information about other iPod support, but as we can see on the image, the iPod Video suits it the most) and watch your favorite player to come alive. While right arm scratches, left one keeps the hand on the headphone - it looks and sounds very realistic. However, it costs $100, so it is better to think about need in such "action figure" with two small speakers. Maybe it is better to buy a simple dock with two big speakers built-in for a similar price.

4. iPod Nano Wallet

The size of iPod Nano allows it to be placed almost everywhere. This time it is the wallet. Imagine a simple wallet, which, apart from place to hold you credit cards and driver's license, has one specially designed slot for your music player. The iPod Nano fits there perfectly, and all main parts are accessible - the screen, clickwheel, and headphone jack. Just put it in there and you can amaze your friends when they will see you listening to your wallet.

5. iBuzz

If you want to go farther with your music, a UK Company has created the iPod-connectable vibrator that will vibrate along with your favorite tunes, making this accessory a first music-activated sex toy. It has 11 vibration speeds and are in two colors - Classic White and Limited Edition Black. Manufacturer's site claims that it will bring the most sensational orgasms for couples, and, while you both enjoy the feelings, you can listen to the music!
